Gary Clark Sr. is a member of the Board of Directors of Power Jam Music Alliance (PJMA), and Miles Management Inc. Additionally, he is an entertaining consultant for Ben’s Chili Bowl, as well as the founder and CEO of Pep Rally for Peace in the Streets (PRPIS), a Washington D.C. based nonprofit community outreach organization.
Under Gary’s leadership, PRPIS has been involved in annual community outreach programs including Feed and Homeless Community Awareness Day, Celebrating Blacks Making History; Past Present and Future, an Outstanding Community Service Award Program and work with the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA), and it’s Return Citizen Program (not exclusively).
Central to Garry’s passion for community mobilization is entertainment. Before graduating from Cardozo High School in1978, he was the lead rapper and vocalist for the Peacemakers band, one of the first go-go brands in which he contributed his many talents of managing, songwriting, costume designing, as well as special events coordinator etc., a strong desire which continues today.
As Co-Executive Producer and Senior Co-host of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Departments’ Beat the Streets Summer Program, Garry hosted many events with the goal of unifying community neighborhoods through information and entertainment.
During Marion Barry’s tenure as Mayor in the historical Letroit Park, Garry was Youths Supervisor for the Summer Youth Program under the Department of Recreational and Special Events Coordinator for the Crispus Attics Museum and Park of the Arts. He served as 1st Assistant Director for the major movie production “Jazz in the Diamond District “which was filmed in the District of Columbia.
He was producer and production manager of entertainment at the Annual Arts Walk for North Capital Main Street at 1st of Florida Avenue and for the ‘Live and Local presentation at our area ‘Six Flags of America’.
Besides his many duties, including patriarch, event production manager, stage technician, producer, songwriter, band leader, actor, CEO, and janitor, Garry work with Pride Incorporated Bethany Limousine and Travel Agency, and Bethesda Marriott, where he has been employed for 15 years. He is also a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE); where he has been at the forefront of various conventions at the Washington Convention Center, working with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Bayonne, Bruno Mars, Paul McCarty, Katy Perry, WWE, Cher, and KISS (not exclusively).
Garry joined RHI in 2022 and brings with him decades of network leadership and collaborative action experience.
